TRUNKS AND TREATS…HALLOWEEN DEETS!

2015…I had no clue what a “trunk-or-treat” was…I just knew that I got a notice from my kids school – and I was to show up with my car and hand out treats.  Welp – I was in for a rude awakening. Parents had their trunks decked out with Halloween decor…you can tell they put some thought into it.  And you can tell…I didn’t.  Exhibit A below:

This was my attempt at trunk or treat decorations a few years ago. Sad indeed.

Came a long way in 2017….this year I went with a Super Heroes theme for our costumes and trunk decorations.  I used superhero capes that I already had in AJ’s toy bin from his birthday party.  These are great because they come with masks and they also have a girls set.  Got them on Amazon.

Found some of these gems at Home Goods, Michael’s and Target a few years ago…and they will be used for the next 15 years…

Incredible Hulk is pretty scary!  Anyone else’s kid wanted to change their costume at the last minute?? After begging for what you got them to begin with??

All of the kids had a blast!  Some of these photos are from our awesome moms who caught some of the action.

In years past – I only stuck with trunk-or-treat at school and skipped the night activities. But since the kids are getting older – we ventured out to a park event that had fun for the whole family. It was perfect because a lot of their school friends were there. Personally, I’m not into the door-to-door trick or treating…so this was a great option!

Bobbi threw on one of her many princess dresses and crowns…and AJ opted for a more casual Halloween look (regular clothes) and added one of his capes to the mix.  And voila…costumes #2.  Works for me!
