It was the perfect storm.…Bobbi had been begging me to have friends over for a playdate for the longest….and I’ve been putting it off due to my schedule and travels.  And every weekend – I am charged with finding activities to do with my little ones – which will most always end in arts and crafts.  And then, one day…the skies opened up…and behold…an invite drops in my lap (or email)…asking me to host a Disney Kids Preschool Playdate!!!!  It was an answer to a weekend prayer.

But first….the email said I would receive party supplies to host 10 preschoolers…now which 10 would I invite was my biggest issue.  But I left that up to Bobbi and AJ – and they had a fun time planning their guest list.  It was exciting to receive our goods in the mail – and much to our surprise – it came in a Sophia The First American Tourist luggage.  So Dope!  Check out our Disney Preschool Kit Reveal that I shared on snapchat:

Here are a few things I did to make our playdate special:

I made sure my kids were involved in the process and included activities they would want to do. And anything that involved coloring, painting and creating – they are always down for. So our focus point was the arts and crafts station. I used items that we already had at home to help with decorations and storage for the supplies.

I just discovered Michael’s new Disney Arts and Crafts section!! So I supplemented what Disney sent to me to ensure the kids had plenty of activities. I also live for Target’s front bin section. So many Disney goodies for little price!

I also set up different areas around the house since not all kids want to do the same thing at once. So we opened up our backyard that had a trampoline and swing set. We also had a napping station that I wasn’t aware of 🙂

What’s every two-year old’s favorite cartoon??? BUBBLE GUPPIES!!!!  Well, its one of many…but since AJ’s birthday falls in the summer – I love having his parties outside.  (Besides, who doesn’t love being out in all of the heat and humidity that Miami has to offer??)  In fairness to all attendees – I do plan it around some type of water activity – and this year’s venue had plenty of that.  We celebrated at TY Park’s Castaway Island where they offered something for everyone!  I rented out two funbrella’s – which perfectly shaded all of our guests (about 60 people).  Kids were able to spend time in the splash pad zone or join in the fun at the swim lagoon.  There’s even a slides area for the older kids.  There was limited décor since the pools and slides were enough to keep the kids entertained.  But I still managed to find ways to incorporate the Bubble Guppies theme.

It was a perfect summer day to gather friends and family to celebrate AJ turning two. Sharing some of the fun!

I always find custom labels on Etsy to tie it all together…and the beach pails from Party City was a perfect touch to the décor.

Queen Bee Turns Three!!!  When I posted photos of Bobbi’s second birthday party – one of my followers commented that I should do a bumble bee party for her 3rd birthday. I am not sure who it was – but she definitely gets credit for this idea (thank you if you are reading this!!!).  I loved the yellow and black color combo idea – and I knew there was so much to play with when it comes to bumble bees, honeycombs and little girls.

I love planning my kids parties – and get way more hyped about it then they do.  I’m all about the attention to detail and making sure the kids have a FUN time in the process.  This party was no different.

First thing – we secured her favorite place to have fun – which was the Miami Children’s Museum.  I normally have my kids parties outside (hello…I live in Miami!) – but this time I was looking for something different and a more controlled environment.  Thankfully we went this route, because it turned out to be a rainy day.  The staff at the museum was beyond awesome to work with and they truly made the whole event seamless.

I also tapped into some of my favorite bakers to add some sweetness to the party:  Divine Delicacies Custom Cakes made not one – but TWO cakes for Miss Bobbi.  And no party is complete without cupcakes from The Butter Creamery.

Thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate the Queen Bee’s birthday!  Check out some pictures from the day!

Divine Delicacies felt that one cake wasn’t enough! So they gifted us with this honeycomb cake – dripped with honey!

We celebrated Amarii’s first birthday with a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse theme – because he is obsessed with the show.  It was the first cartoon show that he physically reacted to…bopping on his knees whenever the show would come on…and watching intently at Mickey’s every move. It was a no brainer. He was just as animated with Mickey as Bobbi Elle was with Peppa Pig…hence her Peppa Pig themed party earlier this year in February. I shared some photos on the site: I’m Peppa Pig! Bobbi Turns Two!

I love doing my kids parties in outdoor areas, like parks and picnic areas.  Not always the best choice in the summer months in South Florida…we got pounded with rain and wind at one point during the party – but thankfully that lasted only a few minutes and the party was able to go on – despite most of my well thought out decor being destroyed in those few minutes.  Good thing we got some shots before the mini storm came thru….so here’s a peak behind AJ’s Clubhouse Birthday Bash!

Mickey Mouse oreo cookies
The night before the party – I made these Mickey Mouse inspired oreo cookies using double stuffed oreos, mini oreos and some red chocolate melt chips! It wasn’t perfect – but it was my labor of love. Damn you Pinterest!
Mickey Mouse decorations
I used large container bins to pack up all of my items to take to the park…used a checklist to make sure I didn’t forget my Mickey and Minnie ears and a slew of other things. Nothing like getting to the venue and remembering all of things you forgot at home!
